The Eyes of the Beholder..
Eyes precious as coal;
Ironic that one look from her fuels my soul.
They move me without sound,
Slowly freeing me without bounds.
Oval twinkles of serenity,
She calls them small and chinky;
To me they’re my haven,
Like a moth hovering a wick that’s flaming.
They speak without words,
As loud as any action or verb.
From a look of surprise to the seductive batting of her eyes,
Their beauty limitless as the sky.
So as the sea of emotion flowing inside them begins to shout,
And waves of feelings collide with doubt,
Causing tears of uncertainty to glaze her eyes,
I hope the love & support she has given me will reflect in mine to silence those cries.
Because what I see in her is what I strive to be.
Perhaps what I see in her is much more than the eyes can see.
